As you will soon discover there are plenty of different types of portable games consoles a person can choose from which they can then play their most favored video games on. Although you have the Nintendo DS and the Gameboy in this article we will be taking a look at just what the Sony PSP can offer you, and which seems to be one of the more popular of the portable games consoles now available.

As with any kind of portable device the biggest problem faced by many people today is how long the batteries are going to last. Yet although the PSP has a very powerful operating system the batteries they use have been specifically designed to allow for much longer play time. Plus even when the batteries do eventually need recharging a person can carry on playing their game whilst this operation is being performed.

A major benefit to be gained from owning a PSP compared to say the Nintendo DS is that even if the batteries become completely drained once placed on charge the user can start playing games again. Also on average it takes around 2 hours for the batteries in the Sony PSP to be fully charged once more and allows you to play it wherever you want.

Another great feature of the PSP is that it allows you MP3 music on it. Although it comes with a good set of headphones when listening to music on your PSP you may prefer to get a good set of audio ones to use with it instead. A lot people who already have PSP’s now not only use theirs to play all their favorite video games on but listen to their favorite music tracks as well.

Just like the Nintendo DS the PSP now comes with a wireless feature which means that you have the capability of playing against others with a PSP up to a distance of 100 feet away from each other. Plus you are not restricted to just playing against one person using this feature in fact up to 8 people who have PSP’s can play the same game on a wireless connection at any one time.

One of the biggest problems to be faced by many gamers who use portable consoles is that amount of time it takes for theirs to either boot up or upload the game that they want to play. However this is where the Sony PSP differs from other games consoles including the Nintendo DS is that it comes with a “sleep mode” facility. As soon as you hit the button which turns on this feature the PSP will stop and will only recommence booting up or uploading the game from the point when it was stopped when the button has been pressed again.

Another great feature that you will find on the Sony PSP compared to many other portable games consoles it has the ability to allow you to play MP4 formatted movies. However for you to be able to do this you will need to arrange to have the right kind of software to convert the movies in to the right format. There are some sites today where you can download such software for free but be wary as some may come with other unexpected features such as spyware and adware.

So as you can see there are many advantages to be had from owning a Sony PSP compared to the other kinds of portable games consoles now available. But apart from these another major benefit to be had from the PSP is that you know as with all Sony equipment you are going to be provided with good customer and technical support at all times.
